Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – Athens – Delphi – Kalambaka

Depart from Athens in the morning, traveling through the fertile plains of Boeotia and picturesque villages of central Greece. Arrive in Delphi, one of the most important archaeological sites of the ancient world, located on the slopes of Mount Parnassus.

During the guided visit, explore the famous Temple of Apollo, the seat of the Oracle of Delphi, the ancient theater, and the Treasury of the Athenians. You will also visit the Archaeological Museum of Delphi, home to remarkable masterpieces of ancient Greek art, including the renowned Charioteer of Delphi.

You will also make a short stop at the Castalian Spring, where ancient pilgrims traditionally purified themselves before consulting the oracle.

After an optional lunch, continue the journey through the scenic landscapes of central Greece toward Kalambaka, a charming town located at the foot of the towering Meteora rock formations.

Day 2 – Meteora – Byzantine Monasteries

After breakfast, begin your exploration of Meteora, one of Greece’s most spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The massive rock pillars rising up to 400 meters above the ground are crowned with monasteries built between the 14th and 16th centuries, forming one of the most important centers of Eastern Orthodox monasticism.

Visit selected active monasteries and admire Byzantine frescoes, ancient manuscripts, and breathtaking panoramic views over the Thessalian plain. Your guide will explain the extraordinary history of the monks who built these remarkable structures in such extreme and inaccessible conditions.

In the afternoon, enjoy time for photography and absorb the unique spiritual atmosphere of the region.

Day 3 – Kalambaka – Thermopylae – Athens

After breakfast, depart for the return journey to Athens.

On the way, stop at the historic site of Thermopylae, famous for the 480 BC battle between the Greek forces led by King Leonidas of Sparta and the Persian army of Xerxes. Visit the Monument of King Leonidas and learn about one of the most heroic last stands in ancient history.

Continue your journey through central Greece and arrive in Athens in the afternoon.
